Sydney grew up in the Shenandoah Valley and first felt a call to serve survivors of sex trafficking as a 13 year old. It’s something God has written on her heart from a young age. Through high school and her time at Eastern Nazarene College, that call was magnified, and eventually led Sydney to working with three different safe homes serving this population. In 2016, she accepted a position at Rest Stop Ministries in Tennessee. Here, she learned so much about this work and operated in many different capacities including Assistant Residential Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and Community Engagement Manager. In 2019, she and her co-worker, Brittni, decided it was time to take what they had learned and replicate it. Sydney returned to Harrisonburg, VA in 2020 to do just that. Stone Haven is the culmination of a long-time dream.
